AVK China served Haiyan WWTP project with DN1200 RSGV and outstanding anti-corrosion solution

In recent years, Haiyan implemented a series of effective pollution controlling measures for the long-term development, which providing a good ecological foundation to build collective prosperity.
As a major local government project, Haiyan WWTP project phase II greatly reduces the load of water pollutants within the service scope so that the water quality of inland water will be significantly improved. The total investment of this project is around 200 million yuan. This project targeted to expand and renovate of the phase I project of Haiyan as well as to construct the reclaimed water system and matched water distribution pipeline. The first phase of capacity expansion and upgrading will be expanded from the current 100,000 m3/d to 120,000 m3/d, and the service area will be about 500km2.

The reclaimed water system with new equipment added to the current sea drainage pump house for conveying reclaimed water to Shanying Paper as production water. The capacity of reclaimed water is 25,000 m3/d. At the same time, the DN1000 pipe is newly built, with a length of about 4.2km. 

The Phase II project adopted “primary treatment + secondary biological treatment (AAO & MBR) + tertiary advanced treatment (advanced oxidation)". In the valve options for the project, there were two core challenges. Firstly, DN1200 direct-buried gate valve is needed on the connecting pipeline between biological treatment process segments. The selection of valve is a huge challenge due to its large diameter and direct-buried working conditions. Secondly, ozone advanced oxidation technology is used in the advanced treatment section of the project, thus the valves should be able to withstand the long-term test of ozone corrosion.

Its excellent anti-corrosion performance and long service life fully meet the requirements of direct buried gate valves. At the same time, in order to meet the requirements of anti-ozone corrosion in the advanced treatment process section, AVK has carried out special spraying treatment of anti-ozone coating on the double eccentric butterfly valve to ensure the lasting and stable operation.
