Shenzhan Grand Industrial Zone Water Plant Phase II
The Grand Industrial Zone Water Plant covers a total planned area of 17.10 hectares, with Phases I and II occupying 7.96 hectares. The Phase II expansion project, a key municipal infrastructure supporting initiative in Shenzhen with a total investment of RMB 285 million, was completed in 2023, successfully achieving a leap in water quality from conventional supply to direct drinking water supply, benefiting 200,000 residents in Pingshan District.
5A-Level Water Plant Achieves Leapfrog Upgrade in Water Supply Quality
The Grand Industrial Zone Water Plant is a 5A-level facility under China Water Affairs Group Limited and the first advanced treatment plant in Pingshan District. The Phase II expansion project constructed new conventional treatment and sludge treatment facilities with a capacity of 150,000 m³/d, along with a supporting advanced treatment system for 250,000 m³/d, enhancing both water supply capacity and quality standards. The project adopts an advanced treatment process of "activated carbon filtration before sand filtration", combined with an intelligent control system and an AI-powered analytics platform (achieving a plant-wide programmable control rate of over 95%), realizing intelligent operation and management that laid the foundation for stable plant operation and the upgrade to direct drinking water supply. Additionally, the plant has adopted facilities such as solar-powered streetlights with photovoltaic panels, actively implementing green and low-carbon development concepts.
AVK Provides One-Stop Valve Solution for the Water Plant
As the valve supplier of core supporting equipment for the project, AVK provided reliable support for the plant's stable operation and water quality upgrading.
Throughout the entire treatment process of "pre-ozonation – folded-plate flocculation tank – advection sedimentation tank – flipping carbon filter tank–flipping sand filter tank", AVK delivered a one-stop valve solution for this project, supplying nearly 300 units of various valves, including butterfly valves, gate valves, air valves, check valves, penstocks and flap valves, fully adapting to the complex operating conditions across different process stages.
